I lived in mainland China, and the honest fact is if you do not like this place, you do not like good authentic Chinese food. The service here is unparalleled as well, we had three waiters ensuring food came in a timely matter, our table was cleaned after each course, and any other needs we had were met. They loved our kids and were very kind to them. The food came out fast, all be it it was not a weekend, when they are very busy. If you are in New York and you want fine dinning high quality Chinese food, this is your stop.

I read reviews on restaurants that served Chinese food and Beijing duck and this restaurant has great reviews so my family dined there tonight and this restaurant exceeds 5 stars. The food is great and the chef and staff all go above and beyond. They take time to talk to customers and genuinely care about their customers dining experience. Thank you so much, the next trip to NYC I will definitely dine here again.

Best DUCK you will ever have. This place won for best food we had this time around in NYC. 2021 The duck and fish was everything! Edit: we haven't been back, but I tell you, I think about this place atleast 2x a week. I'm going around looking something close to, and I have not been successful. I am sorry for the people. Who seem to had a bad experience, but I think its worth the try for yourself. If you like Chinese food, this place is a must. We had left over duck and we heat it the next day and it was still good. Not to mention how kind and sweet the chief was, he seemed so humble.

Had a fantastic time at Hwa Yuan. We went not knowing it was a nice restaurant and we didn’t want to spend much so we got just a few plates of food. The fried rice was amazing! We also got the veggie dumplings which were really great. This place is good for groups.

The food was so delicious. Each bite I took I was waiting for the next bite. We had the Pork Soup Dumplings, the Cold Sesame Noodles and Chongqing Chicken. Everything was delicious. The Pork Soup Dumplings were steaming hot and full of flavourful soup. The coating was super thin. The Cold Sesame Noodles came out very quickly. The staff mixes it up really well for you. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the sauce was thick yet coated the noodles well. I think it was the best Sesame noodles I’ve eaten. The Chongqing Chicken was extremely tasty. It had that sichuan pepper flavour yet the flavour is not overpowering.

Really yummy Peking duck - crispy skin, juicy meat, everything you want. We also got some other dishes like the crab with rice, which was also great, but the duck was definitely the star. Friendly and attentive service in a pretty modern and upscale environment. Would definitely bring friends and family here again :)

I went with a group of 6 for a birthday, and we all loved the food. We all had the duck special dinner, and it says it's for at least 4 but we were all stuffed. The crispy beef is amazing, I can eat endless bowls of it. The duck was great, too. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is on top of everything.

Easily one of the most delicious Chinese spots I've experienced in the city! The crispy beef was fantastic and a must try. The duck was delicious, perfectly prepared, and they carve it right in front of you. The cold sesame noodles are a must try and they also prepare some of it in front of you! Finally, I gotta talk about the Dong Po Pork Belly. I am not kidding you when I say that the pork belly MELTED in my mouth. Seriously do not deny yourself one of the best Chinese meals you'll ever have on this side of the world!

Large, spacious restaurant with a great selection of popular dishes! This place has an interesting history worth asking the servers about. Very attentive service. Highly recommend coming in groups!

I like pretty much everything that we ordered. The duck is great but I feel that it’s pretty similar to most places in Chinatown. The shrimps however, are quite big and juicy, my favorite thing to order here.
